A lot of people are surprised about the amount of Carol in S4 trailer, and for the most part it makes the most sense. They are living in this prison that has to be maintained at 120% every single day, especially now that the walkers have seemed to become a bigger threat now. So they have to show a glimpse how everyone is living, surviving and coexisting with each other and Carol (an adult-has to be shown pulling her weight around). I found it to be fantastic that Season One Carol would have never toted a gun around or a knife, but this Carol she’s showing people how to survive and that gives her a sense of command and leadership.
I am worried that they are going to kill her off within the first half of season 4, I really hope she lasts until the very end. Especially with the scene that Rick is yelling for her. It just shows how much stronger she is and how much of an asset she has become to the group. I’m not going to try and read between the lines and search for the Caryl moments, but having Daryl and Carol walking with each other with him eating and her commenting on the landscape around them is significant.
It’s reminiscent of the Caryl scene in the first episode, and I would want someone to do a parallel gif set.
All in all this was an excellent trailer and it just makes me all the more excited for the new season, and oh my goodness Daryl Dixon’s hair. It just makes him so much more feral. It is just fantastic.
Guys, I’m having major writing issues. Currently working on my Teenage Caryl!AU fic, and it’s been proving to be a really interesting process. At the moment I have conflicted on Daryl’s personality and what on earth to make their ages. Plot and narrative is already figured out, but those two important things is what bothering me at this moment.
Can somebody be willing to be my sounding board/beta for my fic?
“According to Kirkman, the fallout of Axel’s death will definitely be a big part of what’s to come on “The Walking Dead,” particularly for Carol. “It’s important to note that sometimes the death on ‘The Walking Dead’ has to be very sudden. That keeps people on their toes, and goes to…
aka WHY CAN’T CAROL HAVE NICE THINGS?!
I’m happy that they’re thinking so much about her character. And giving Melissa some awesome opportunities with her acting.

I just hope that they don’t do the whole Carol suicides because she thinks everyone she gets close to dies, or that it should have been her instead of Axel. I want her to confront those feelings head on, maybe even with Daryl because he’s going through his own conflicted feelings as well. And if the writers believe she has to die, then make it an honorable death.
I can’t stop fixating on Carol’s clothing throughout the show. In the first season, as far as I can remember, she stuck mostly to clothing themed towards a stereotypical housewife. I think it’s safe to assume that, to a large extent, this was Ed’s doing - remember that she once told Lori that he never let her wear such nice things. Her clothing tended to be feminine without being showy or elaborate. There were a lot of softer colors, a lot of faint florals, and a lot of cupped sleeves.
It had nothing to do with him being a threat to Caryl, because I never saw him as one. It had everything to do with the fact that, in the comics, one of the convicts at the prison was seemingly harmless, but later turned out to be a serial killer who murders Hershel’s twin daughters (Hershel had…
